Jeiryung Lee's artistic focus revolves around writing. Lee sees writing as an experience of liberation from personal or societal repression, particularly exploring the role and realm of writing in mental disorders. She handles language as both a physical material and a tool, breaking down and reassembling written words to articulate intersections and overlaps between her encounters and those of others. Lee combines text and objects across installations, sculptures, drawings, and other art forms, often narrating the psychological substance of intimate or collective recordings, memories, incidents, and problems.
